Dev Log #3 - REMI V0.4

Welcome to the release of R.E.M.I. Version 0.4!

In this update, we’ve focused on a number of core areas that have seen major improvements and additions over the past few weeks. Our goal has been to refine the player experience and lay more of the foundation for what’s to come.

Tutorial System

This version introduces the first pass of the in-game tutorial, designed to introduce players to the world of R.E.M.I. and provide important context for their journey. While still in early stages, the tutorial now explains the player’s role, the core gameplay loop, and how to get started. Future versions will expand this further, but this lays the groundwork for smoother onboarding.

Task Posters

To assist players in completing their daily objectives, we’ve added visual task posters to each relevant room. These posters are meant to be helpful reference points, giving players a clear (but not overly guided) idea of what each task involves. Our aim was to make them intuitive and accessible without removing the sense of individual success.

Audio – Draft Sound Implementation

We’ve begun implementing first-draft sound effects across the game to enhance player feedback and immersion. These early sounds cover common interactions and environmental cues, and they really helped to make the game feel more responsive to the players actions. As most of the sounds are draft and not polished enough. we will strive to add more polished audio effects in future updates.

 Minor Fixes & Improvements

  • General visual polish across several areas

  • Light performance optimizations

Next Steps

With most of the core game in place, our next focus is to:

  • Finish implementing all remaining game tasks

  • Add more environmental detail and visual polish to breathe life into the station

  • Begin building out the escape end of game path

We’re excited about how far the project has come.

Stay tuned for more updates soon!
